Voice Over Talent.

Some of the Voice Over services offered by Stephen Bray.

Narration

I love getting into character and using my repertoire of narrator voices.

Narration sets the scene, the tone, the presence in the now and brings in depth to any form of communication through the use of personalities into a story. It creates a vibe for what the receiver can expect, allowing voice over talents to immerse their passion into any project. This is where I come in.

My narrator’s voice versatility lends its hand to not only traditional forums such as film, advertising but to the new communication mediums and advertising channels that are rapidly expanding into our households such as audio books, video games, E-learning platforms, short corporate videos and films, digital media films just to name a few.

So take a listen to my audio for a taste of what you can expect in my voiceover capabilities.

Gaming

Role playing Dungeons and Dragons for over 20 years has also allowed me to develop some serious backbone into a variety of characters. From a nervous Female Gnome Rogue, to a ½ Orc Male Barbarian.

Or what about a snubbed nosed pilot in Mech-Warrior or a try hard playboy Infiltrator in Mass Effect D20? Or Igor the Hunch Back, Town Cryer or Mr Whippy? Whatever your needs are for your next game, I will come along and help you create and play.

Are you game enough to try me out?

Cartoon/Animation

Like many of you I grew up watching cartoons as a child. My absolute favourites, Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Spike the Dog, Shaggy and Scooby Doo to name just a few.

Creating new and interesting characters is something I cherish and revel in. It is fun, challenging, creative, exciting and it is like second nature to me. I can do impressions from just watching a cartoon once becoming that character voice over very quickly.

So why don’t you allow me to get on the creative journey with you for your next Cartoon voice over character? You won’t be disappointed!

 Animal

Animals are part of our daily lives. They play important roles in families and for many become the comfort they seek and need on a daily basis. Just look at all the new bred therapy dogs that people use to overcome personal challenges.

Luckily for me I’m able to do impersonations as a voice over artist of animals and incorporate my voice over talent into my reads spontaneously. Not everyone can do on the spot, newly created animal character or / and animal and fall into an animal impersonation. But I can. This is unique as most need voice over talent rely on animal sound effects. I have been told that they sound so lifelike if you close your eyes you would swear they were real.

So why not ask me to do an animal impersonation for you today. You may just be in for a real surprise.

Sound Effects

As a professional voice over I don’t often receive the opportunity to demonstrate my talent in sound effects. This is due to the fact that sound effects are added to the script post recording and voice over production however when these opportunities arise, I get to work on some unique and at times extraordinary requests that are nothing but exciting in the challenge.

You may need a sound for a plug being pulled out of a sink, a sprinkler going, some suction cups, a spray-bottle, or a heartbeat. What-ever your requirement may be for your next communication creation, I can become the next chameleon of many talents you seek.

Character

Using my skills of creating characterisation is my creative outlet to expand on film, games, animation and radio. This is my absolute passion.

When I impersonate a character I consider the person in their entirety to ensure that I capture the core of the person’s vulnerabilities, strengths, interests, fears, personality traits and ensure that I have their quirks and mannerisms down pat, especially when playing the role in one character for longer periods of time. It’s a fantastic, emotional, highly focused journey. Once I’m in character, I’m in character for the duration of time required. And that takes skill, experience and dedication.

During my time at Kryal Castle Ballarat, I created memorable characters such as Tuesday the Week Knight and Mary the Whipping Wench but my complete favourite was Igor the Hunch Back.

So if you want someone who knows how to fully immerse themselves into character, and execute the brief, I’m the person for the job.
